Generating Electricity From Solar And Wind Power

Do you pay more for your electricity than you would like? If you had a chance, would you be thrilled to skip your electric bill and pay nothing instead?

Would that idea still be exciting if you needed to put in some effort to install a generator in your backyard, that converts renewable sources to energy?

If you are interested, you need to strongly consider both solar and wind energy. If you combine the two, you’ll have all of the electricity you could ever need.

Solar power comes from sunlight. It’s free, and because the sun isn’t going anywhere (unlike fossil fuels) it is inexhaustible. You can install a solar panel just about anywhere, too.

Solar power is very clean energy. It does not pollute when you collect energy from the sun. You aren’t burning anything, and there are no emissions. You can store the energy for a long time also. You don’t have to use it as it is collected. Plus, once you have your generator set up, the upkeep and maintenance are very inexpensive.

The downside is the cost, because there’s a substantial setup investment. The up-front cost will end up paying for itself over time though, because you’ll save money in the long run. Imagine how much money you could save over five years, or even over one year, if you had no electricity bills at all!

Wind power is also a very clean, and inexpensive, power source. Wind power converts the kinetic energy from wind directly to power. Again this is very environmentally friendly, it doesn’t make any pollution or emissions and it won’t run out. Many people think that solar and wind power are the future of energy generation. Sooner or later we’ll develop new ways of making the technology efficient, and that will be the end of energy shortages.

It has traditionally been very expensive to install the equipment to generate solar and wind power. Already the cost of setup has been coming down. The price should continue to drop over time.
